Braintree Teen Allegedly Hits Cop Car While Stoned

A Braintree teen reportedly drove into a police cruiser while driving under the influence of marijuana.


A local teen is facing charges after allegedly crashing into a Braintree police vehicle while driving under the influence of marijuana on Washington Street Sunday night. 

At 11:06 p.m., William T. Sawyer, 18, of 276 Washington St., Braintree, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs (marijuana), impeded operation of a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Local police told WVCB Boston that Sawyer was attempting to film a recent accident on his phone while driving when he drove into a police cruiser. The interior of the car smelled strongly of marijuana, according to the report.
