UPDATE: Trains Halted in Braintree Due to Suspicious Package

There was a package left Monday morning at the commuter platform in Braintree.

UPDATE 9:56 a.m.: Pesaturo reports that police are allowing trains to resume moving through the station.

A suspicious package at the commuter platform in Braintree has trains delayed coming out of the MBTA station on Ivory Street Monday morning.

Transit police "are carefully examining a package that was left on the commuter rail platform," MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an email.

Police are holding trains out of Braintree until approximately 9:45 a.m., according to an alert on MBTA.com. "Passengers are urged to take the red line where possible," it says.
