Braintree Police Arrest Woman on OUI Drugs

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 30-year-old Dorchester woman allegedly drove away from Sunset Lake intoxicated on drugs and was arrested after a Braintree officer saw her drive over the center lane on Cleveland Avenue.

Sandra A. Wood was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, failure to keep within marked lanes, providing a false name to police and other motor vehicle violations, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"Police received a call of an erratic driver leaving Sunset Lake and later located the vehicle on Cleveland Avenue," Jenkins said. "Officer David Jordan observed the vehicle crossing over the fog line and center line and effected an enforcement stop at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Middle Street."

Wood did not smell of alcohol but appeared impaired and at first gave a false name, Jenkins said. Several pill bottles prescribed to her were found in Wood's purse.

She was arrested after performing several sobriety tests and also had an outstanding arrest warrant for a prior drug offense in Braintree.
