5 Things: Splash Pad Opening Cookout Date Announced

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on July 15, 2013.

1. The Splash Pad at Watson Park will be open by the end of July, according to the town website. An opening day cookout hosted by Mayor Sullivan is scheduled for July 28 at noon. Watch for formal announcement soon.

2. The Thayer Public Library Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium.

3. The library is hosting Storytime for ages 2-5 at Smith Beach from 10 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. today. 

"Will be held under the shady tree. Cancelled if rain. This is the second of four outdoor Thayer Public Library storytimes at Braintree Parks this summer.    Children age 2 through 5 can listen to stories, sing songs, make a simple craft. Start a good foundation for literacy skills and have fun!"

4. The Nonfiction Book Club also meets at Thayer Library from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in Conference Room B. This month's selection is Ethical chic: The inside story of the companies we think we love by Fran Hawthorne
