UPDATE: Flaherty Students Blast Fundraising Goal for Cancer Charity With Bookmarks Sale

The Friends of Will Cancer Foundation, a local nonprofit aimed at raising money for cancer research, is hosting an event in Randolph on March 10.

UPDATE: The "Cure Me I'm Irish" event that will serve as a fundraiser for Friends of Will Cancer Foundation is coming up quick, on Saturday, March 10 at 8 p.m. More info below. *****     *****     ***** A group of seven Braintree girls nicknamed "The Bookworms" has raised more than $1,500 for a local cancer charity by making bookmarks for donations on a website called FirstGiving that helps nonprofits expand their fundraising reach. The Flaherty Elementary students, now in fifth grade, have been raising money for Will Lacey and the cancer foundation set up in his name since second grade, Kathleen Lockhart, a parent who set up the girls' webpage, said in an email.
