Landing Pub Hit With Two-Day Suspension After Board Finds it Over-Served

A related hearing for Four Square was postponed on Tuesday.

A young man celebrating his 21st birthday at The Landing Pub last September was served a shot of alcohol despite already being intoxicated and was later confonted by police in the Landing and ended up at South Shore Hospital. That was the determination Tuesday afternoon of the Board of License Commissioners. Members took a rare unanimous vote in an alcohol license hearing, following up their decision with a two-day penalty to be served on a consecutive Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13. Four Square also faces the allegation that it served an intoxicated person that night, which according to police reports began with two brothers celebrating at bars in Weymouth before ending up at the Braintree establishments, where one brother allegedly…

Pretty banged up?!?! Yea. Its called being a weymouth JUNKIE. I wonder if they did a tox report to see what the kid was really on. I doubt it. Its just easier to blame the establishments instead. I remember when you could go out and have a few drinks and not have to worry about stupid kids like this.   more ›

Braintree-Weymouth Landing Restaurant and Retail Project Faces Construction Delay

The new building is planned to take over where The Landing Pub and Ultimate Pizza are and house a restaurant and two retail shops.

It will be more than a month before a new restaurant and two retail shops in Braintree-Weymouth Landing come up for approval after the Planning Board moved its decision on the project to August, putting in jeopardy the owner's ability to complete a key portion of construction in time. Harry Sarras, co-owner of The Landing Pub and Ultimate Pizza, and architect Brian Donahue appeared again before the board on Tuesday night expecting their project to move forward and construction to start soon on a building that will take the place of those two establishments and house a 95-seat restaurant and the small retail stores.  But board members put off their vote until Aug. 21 to give the planning department time to draft conditions for a site plan …

I think it would be a good idea to close off the road beginning at the Chair Fare store and ending before the road next to the church. Leaving a very pleasant walking and shopping area. All traffic could be re directed to go down by the train and behind the main street. There is already access to parking.Business would be much better and a more appealing area to draw more people in.   more ›
