The Rotary Club is an international organization whose local chapters like the one in Braintree help support a variety of causes.
At a recent meeting of the Braintree Rotary Club, representatives from the Salvation Army visited the club to discuss how their organization assists those in need during natural and other disasters such as fires. Also, the Braintree Rotary Club was honored to have Braintree's Veterans Agent, Dick Walsh, as a speaker recently. Dick does such great work for our Veterans, and informed us of the many services available to all Vets in the town of Braintree.

At a luncheon held at Emerald Hall on June 7, the Braintree Rotary Club honored six Braintree High School students for their excellent performance at their local high school science fair, the South Shore Regional Science Fair, and the Massachusetts State Science Fair. The students set up their informational posters for the members to view and discuss with them. After the lunch, they each gave a brief presentation to the group giving an overview of their award winning work. Superintendent, Dr. Peter Kurzburg and Dr. Dianne Rees, Director of Science K-12 for the Braintree Public Schools, attended the luncheon with the students. –Joyce Albrecht
