Pizza Shop Entrepreneur Given Break by Braintree Board

Easy Pie is the new name for PJ's Pizzeria & Grill in the Braintree Highlands. The new owner said he didn't realized he had been operating without various permits this year.

In 2010, Spiros Stogiannis agreed to take over a friend's ailing pizza shop in South Braintree, using his corporate culinary chops to build his own restaurant out of the former PJ's Pizzeria. Stogiannis immediately immersed himself in the task, coming up with a new name – Easy Pie – developing his own marketing, creating a website and carefully selecting produce and meats for fresher pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. "It's been very, very difficult," Stogiannis told members of the Board of License Commissioners on Tuesday afternoon. "I'm not making any money yet." Those always-busy habits – Stogiannis worked as the manager, chef, dishwasher and cleaner –  also led him to forgo several regulatory requirements of businesses, he said, including…

New Bar Pizza Restaurant Coming to Braintree

The restaurant, to be run by a longtime restaurateur from Braintree, will be called the Brew House and will serve South Shore-style bar pizzas, beer, wine and liquor and host occasional entertainment.

The owner of a new restaurant that received approvals from two government boards this week plans to bring bar-style pizza to Braintree as part of a family-friendly location in the Granite Plaza, a development that may also help revitalize a shopping area struggling with vacancies during the recent economic downturn. Alexandros Kesaris, the owner, comes from a family steeped in the restaurant industry. The Kesaris family has long operated the Clam Box at Wollaston Beach in Quincy and other restaurants at Marina Bay and in Boston. The Brew House will seat 78 people total and will feature entertainment by way of open mic nights and fundraisers, Kesaris said.
