Braintree Resident Honory New England Revolution Captain for Autism Speaks

April was Autism Awareness Month.

Braintree resident Alex Legge served as honorary captain at the New England Revolution – Philadelphia Union game on Saturday, April 27. Legge, a representative of Autism Speaks, and his cousin Matthew Connors took the Gillette Stadium field and participated in the coin toss ahead of the match. The game marked the team’s first-ever Autism Awareness night and was held in partnership with Autism Speaks during Autism Awareness Month.

Hometown Soccery Player Joins New England Revolution

The Boston Globe reported that Scott Caldwell signed with the pro soccer team.

The New England Revolution announced Friday that they signed Braintree native Scott Caldwell to a "homegrown contract." Twenty-one-year-old Caldwell played a season at Milton Academy before joining the United States U-18 squad, according to a report in the Boston Globe. He played for the University of Akron, where he helped lead the team to a national championship in 2010.
