The Color Loft provides tools, techniques and mediums so children can explore their creativity.
The girls of Braintree Girl Scout Troop 73418 designed and created their own canvas paintings and bracelets at The Color Loft last week. The art studio on Washington Street, co-owned by Aisha Jackson and Sarah DiFazio, contains workspaces and a retail area offering take-home projects, along with products such as invitations, favors, jewelry, cards and gift wrap. Troop leaders Kathleen Mortimer and Fai Eng-Wu brought their group of 4th grade girls from Hollis, Highlands and Flaherty elementary schools on May 4.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is proud to announce that Amanda Akins sold 700 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year. The Girl Scout Cookie program allows girls to set goals, learn money management, and develop marketing skills. The activity of selling cookies is directly related to the organization’s purpose of helping all Girl Scouts realize their full potential and become strong, confident and resourceful citizens. Girl Scout troops use proceeds from selling cookies to fund service projects or plan an exciting trip. With the money earned Amanda will attend Girl Scout camp this summer. –Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts
