Bus Driver in Fatal Crash at Mohegan Sun from Braintree, Police Say

A 62-year-old casino worker was killed in the crash on Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of a bus that struck and killed a casino worker in Connecticut is from Braintree, according to the Connecticut State Police. A local NBC affiliate reported Thursday that Lin Qi Si, 38, of Braintree, was driving the commercial bus on Wednesday that hit Pui Yi Li, a 62-year-old from Elmhurst, New York, at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Li died of her injuries after being transported to the hospital. No charges have been filed, NBC reported, and the state police and DMV are investigating the accident. The driver, Si, has multiple driving infractions on his record, according to an article by The Day of New London, CT. UPDATE: Driver Killed in Braintree Crash Identified

The man was driving on Route 3 when he lost control of his car on Friday.

UPDATED at 10:56 a.m.: State Police have identified the victim of Friday night's crash as Jeffrey Prouty, 28, of Hanover.  Original article... A 28-year-old Hanover man died after a one-car crash on Route 3 south on Friday night. The man was driving a 2005 BMW 525I south of Exit 17 in Braintree when he lost control of his car and went off the shoulder of the road. The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m., according to police. State Police closed one lane while investigating the crash scene Friday night. They have not identified the victim and continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
