MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services, and professional and public health education.
Who nominated event entertainer Rob Peters to be locked up at Dave & Buster's on Wednesday, the only way out financial support from friends and colleagues directed toward the Muscular Dystrophy Association? "It's a secret, but I have some suspicions," said Peters, who operates his business out of an office building on Washington Street in Braintree. "If you have fun raising money, people are going to laugh with you rather than at you." Peters was among dozens of people from Braintree, Randolph and Holbrook who either turned themselves in at a set of bars at Dave & Buster's or were picked up and transported there on Wednesday by local, county and state police. Afterward, they gathered in a section between the bar and arcade games to enjoy …

The hearing will take place at Braintree Town Hall at 2 p.m. on Jan. 24.
Dave & Buster's will face a hearing in front of the Board of License Commissioners next week after Braintree police reported two crimes at the newly-opened restaurant and arcade earlier this month. On Saturday night, Jan. 7, two men from Weymouth and Roslindale were arrested at Dave & Buster's on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly getting into a fight propelled by a decade-old feud. That same night, a police officer said that he saw a man holding a Dave & Buster's souvenir glass containing what appeared to be alcohol in the parking lot after closing time. Following those reports, and in accordance with Massachusetts General Law, the license board will hold a hearing at 2 p.m. on the lower level of Town …

Twenty percent of the staff of the restaurant, arcade and bar that opened in December next to the South Shore Plaza are Braintree residents.
Almost one month after Dave & Buster's opened in the former Circuit City building at the South Shore Plaza, town officials have yet to learn of any serious safety issues and several have said they are satisified so far with the restaurant and arcade's preferential hiring treatment of Braintree residents. Dave & Buster's has hired 57 local workers out of 285 open positions, accounting for 20 percent of the total hires, according to a letter sent from the company's corporate office to councilor Tom Bowes. Braintree residents were allowed to apply and be considered for jobs prior to all other applicants, resulting in a significantly higher percentage of Braintree applicants hired out of their pool (61%) compared to the total number of …
