Teen charged with carrying knife on school grounds Tissa Hernandez, 18, of 170 Howard Ave., Dorchester, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of carrying a weapon on school grounds and was released on personal recognizance. The charge stems from a Dec. 6, 2011 incident in Braintree after a school housemaster found a black North Face jacket with a knife with a 2-inch folding blade inside. Braintree man arraigned on assault and battery charges Robert Russo, 40, of 20 Walnut St., Braintree, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on two counts of assault and battery. The case was continued to Oct. 5. Russo was released on personal recognizance. The charges stem from a Oct. 28, 2011 incident in Braintree as Russo and his young son were walking home from the Flaherty Elementary School. Witnesses told police they saw Russo and his son on Walnut Street and that the father struck his son, who claimed they were just play fighting. Philadephia man found guilty of dealing heroin, cocaine Carlos Vergara, 32, of 4647 Benston St., Philadelphia, Penn., was found guilty in Quincy District Courtof distributing a Class A drug as a subsequent offense, distributing a Class B drug as a subsequent offense, conspiracy to violate drug law, and giving a fase name to police. Vergara was sentenced to 18 months in the Norfolk County Houseof Correction in Dedham and was given 12 months in jail on the conspiracy charge. Jacobson, 43, of 20 Richfield St., Boston, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of malicious damage to a motor vehicle and released on personal recognizance.
