Braintree Electric Light Offering Free Internet, Phone Upgrades to Broadband Customers
For 118 years Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD) has been a nonprofit public power utility owned and operated by the citizens of Braintree.
BELD Broadband, Braintree’s community-owned and -operated broadband department, has announced several upgrades to its High-Speed Internet and phone services for residential customers. BELD.net customers who initially signed up for 15 Mbps Premium service can now enjoy speeds up to 18 Mbps down at no additional charge. And all BELD Broadband Internet customers will find their webmail space increased from 45 MB to 500. “BELD.net customers are allowed up to six email accounts, so this change essentially gives them three gigabytes of space free,” said Municipal Light Board Chairman Jim Regan during a recent meeting with Vice Chair Tony Agnitti and Secretary Tom Reynolds. “It will let people send larger files like photos and videos without …
