Dorchester Men Arrested After Allegedly Selling Heroin and Cocaine to Undercover Cop

Braintree police arrested two Dorchester men Tuesday afternoon after they allegedly sold heroin and cocaine to an undercover police officer at an undisclosed location in Braintree. Juan Luis Sosa-Cruz, 39, and Luis E. Merced, 44, were charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. The undercover officer arranged to meet with the men after police concluded they were a source of heroin and cocaine on the South Shore, Jenkins said. Heroin Added to Charges for Alleged Sears Shoplifters

Two people were charged with possession of heroin and larceny over $250 after they were caught allegedly stealing clothing and jewelry from Sears at the South Shore Plaza. Loss prevention at the Plaza told Braintree police on Tuesday, April 30 that they saw Julie C. Flynn, 27 of Dorchester, and Richard J. Adams, 31 of Boston, concealing merchandise in a shopping bag and bringing it out to the truck of their vehicle, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. "Arriving officers recovered $800 worth of clothing and jewelry from the couple and from their vehicle and also discovered a small amount of heroin belonging to Flynn," Jenkins said. "Adams was later found in possession of a small amount of heroin as well."

Braintree Man Drives With Three Tires, Charged with Drunk Driving

A 64-year-old Braintree man was arrested Saturday after police saw him driving on three tires and a rim on Hancock Street and he was determined to be under the influence. Robert S. Cutler, Jr. was also charged with failing to stop for a police officer after not pulling over for nearly one mile, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. Officer David Jordan tried to stop Cutler after seeing him at Hancock and Washington. He continued to drive to his nearby home, Jenkins said. He was charged with operating under the influence after performing sobriety tests at the police station.

Man Found Asleep in Car at Noon at Five Corners Sent to Hospital

Braintree police said they believe a 48-year-old Milton man who was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle on West Street at Five Corners at noon Saturday was highly intoxicated. The man was not named because he had yet to be charged. He was at first taken into custody and then released and brought to South Shore Hospital, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. Responding to a report of a man stopped in traffic, Officer John Hurley had difficulty waking him, and when he did awake, he was confused and "unable to focus," Jenkins said. "He had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, was unable to speak coherently and it was not safe for him to attempt sobriety tests," Jenkins said. "The man was initially placed under arrest and …

Braintree Police Warn Residents of TV and Jury Duty Scams

Police are warning residents to be aware of two different types of scams following an incident last week at the South Shore Plaza and widespread reports of a fake jury duty phone call. Last Wednesday, a 50-year-old Attleboro man was defrauded of $800 after he fell victim to a repeat television scam at the Plaza, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. A man claiming to be the victim's UPS delivery driver told him that his brother-in-law "Henry" worked at Sears and had 65-inch LED TVs for sale at a discounted price, Jenkins said. In the parking lot outside Sears, "Henry" took the money from the Attleboro man, gave him a fake receipt and never returned. Braintree Woman Busted for Selling Drugs to Undercover Cop

Braintree police arrested a 54-year-old Braintree woman after she allegedly sold prescription drugs twice to an undercover officer. Leslie D. Trubiano was arrested after a search at her home and vehicle turned up Adderall and Vicodin pills, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. She was charged with various crimes, including distributing those drugs. Police executed a search warrant on April 25 and arrested Trubiano after she left her Parkside Avenue home. She was in possession of the drugs at the time of her arrest and police found more at her home, Jenkins said. "Trubiano was first contacted on April 11th and sold a quantity of Adderall pills to an undercover officer," Jenkins said. "A second sale of Adderall and Vicodin was made to …

Police Seek Help Identifying Braintree Break-in Suspect

Braintree police are looking for the identity of a white male who they believe broke into several vehicles in town. He then used a credit card he stole at the 7-Eleven in Weymouth Landing, according to a description of the crime posted by Braintree police on Mass Most Wanted. Braintree Det. Loaded .45 Handgun Found on Georgia Man in Braintree

Braintree police charged a 24-year-old Georgia man with illegal possession of a firearm after they found a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol under his seat during a search of the vehicle he was in. On Monday evening, police approached the vehicle containing Norris A. Byrd, JR, 24 of Jonesboro, GA and his companion, which was parked facing the wrong direction on Washington Street. Byrd denied having a weapon, but police found the loaded handgun under his seat, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. He had a Georgia gun permit, but not one issued by Massachusetts.
