Braintree Athlete a Coaching Success

Andy Fleming's lifelong journey toward leading a soccer program has led him from Braintree to Xavier University.

An analytical mind and a steely reserve. An even keel. Remaining stoic in the face of mounting disasters and escalating triumphs alike. An ability to blend and motivate discrete personalities. These are the attributes that make a successful head coach. A team takes its cues and gets its persona from its leader. A head coach losing his mind on the sidelines, yelling and cursing and stomping, leads to a team in disarray. Being too placid leads to a passive team. The game of soccer, for many of us, is the first organized sport we play as children. It usually falls by the wayside in favor of more popular, read profitable, games like football and basketball.
