Two Braintree Companies in Globe Top 100

The list ranks the best performing companies based in Massachusetts.

A medical device and industrial holding company, both based in Braintree, made the Globe Top 100, an annual ranking of the best performing firms in Massachusetts. Haemonetics Corp. on Wood Road came in at 66, down slightly from 61 last year. The company makes devices for blood manufacturing and earned $828.7 million in revenue in 2012, according to the Boston Globe's list. Haemonetics announced earlier this month that it would close its Braintree manufacturing plant and move its disposable products division to Mexico, the Boston Business Journal reported. The move over the next year and a half will mean 320 job cuts. The company's headquarters and research center will remain in Massachusetts, Mass High Tech reported, but may or may not …

Braintree Nurse Trained at Blue Hills Regional Honored by Boston Globe

Braintree and Norwood nurses, both trained at Blue Hills Regional, were honored recently for their work.

Sharon Valle and Judy Dynan epitomize the very best of what modern nursing is all about. Both women are compassionate, highly-trained, dedicated, understanding, wise and totally focused on going “above and beyond” for patients and their families. Valle, of Braintree, and Dynan, of Norwood, recently expressed their immense gratitude for being among the nurses honored in the Boston Globe’s 2012 “Salute to Nurses,” a special section published annually which celebrates dozens of outstanding men and women in nursing across Massachusetts who are nominated by those who know them, especially people whose lives they have memorably impacted. Braintree Fontbonne Student Among Boston Globe Scholastic Art Award Winners

Fontbonne Academy is a private school for young women in grades nine through 12. The institution is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and was founded on a Catholic, Western intellectual and spiritual tradition.

Congratulations to six Fontbonne art students whose work was honored in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Contest.  There were 14,000 entries in the contest this year. Gold Key Awards were given to Fontbonne students Maura Healy ’12 of Quincy of in painting, Julia Himmel ’11 of Quincy in photography, and Dabota Wilcox ’12 of Randolph in painting.  Silver Key Awards were given to Julia Himmel ’11 in photography and Yutong Xue ’12 of Braintree in painting.  Honorable Mentions went to Haejung Mun ’12  of Weymouth for painting, and Yutong Xue ’12 for jewelry.  The Awards Ceremonies for this year's Gold and Silver Key winners will be held Sunday, March 11 at the John Hancock Hall in Boston. Harvard Vanguard Named One of Top Places to Work in 2011

The non-profit medical group, with offices in Braintree, was selected from a Boston Globe survey.

Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a non-profit multi-specialty medical group with offices in Braintree and across eastern Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that it has been named to the “Top Places to Work 2011” in Massachusetts in the annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. This is the fourth consecutive year that Harvard Vanguard has been named to the list. The Globe invited 1,076 companies to participate in the fourth annual “Top Places to Work” survey, of which 237 companies were selected to complete the entire evaluation process.
