Wounded Soldiers Share Veterans Day With Braintree After School Enrichment
Braintree After School Enrichment (or BASE) is a licensed non-profit child care program that was launched by Roselyn Karll in 1985.
Several local veterans spoke with students at Braintree After School Enrichment on Monday, sharing stories about their military experience and their athletic prowess despite disabilities. The veterans were: Shawn Delfino, of Newtonville, a veteran of the Army National Guard who served in Iraq in 2008 and 2009. "So many kids are used to video games," Delfino said. "They think it's just for fun and games." Mike Guilbault, of Attleboro, a veteran of the Air Force and recreation director with the New England Paralyzed Veterans of America.
