King passed away suddenly last August and was remembered by students, staff and administrators during an event at the high school Friday evening. King Scholarship and the dedication of the Braintree High School Guidance Suite in honor of Anthony T. King, Director of Guidance. For thirty-five consecutive years, Mr. King devoted himself selflessly to thousands of Braintree students, families, faculty and staff, sharing with them, in the words of his beloved wife and colleague, Jane Kreinsen-King, “his wise and caring counsel and his expert advice.” Mr. King’s unexpected death on August 16, 2012, left all of us who knew him or felt his influence, heartbroken. Former Director of Guidance Anthony King passed away suddenly last August.
This spring, the guidance offices at Braintree High School will be re-named the ”Anthony T. King Memorial Suite” in honor of the former guidance director who passed away last August. King served the school system for 35 years and was a particulary active educator, participating in various groups including the Braintree Education Association, the Norfolk County Teachers Association, and the Massachusetts School Counselors Association. Braintree Public Schools guidance counselor and administrator Anthony King, who served the school system for 35 years and most recently as Director of Guidance, died unexpectedly last week. "Tony’s passing is a devastating loss to our school system," Superintendent Dr. Peter Kurzberg said in a note he sent to BPS staff members on Friday afternoon. Tony King will be sorely missed by the town of Braintree, especially the school department. He was a wonderful gentleman, and an utmost professional.
