Elderly Woman Drives Through Landing Dunkin Donuts Window

The 21-year-old employee said the driver stepped on the gas instead of the brake, accelerating over a guard beam and into the building.

Dunkin Donuts employee Krysten Hardy is just lucky no one was injured when a black Chevy Malibu drove through the side window of the building on 77 Washington Street, just over from the Braintree line in Weymouth Landing. Hardy said she was brewing up coffee and training another employee who was working her first day on the job when a car driven by an elderly woman smashed through the building just after 1 p.m. The 21-year-old employee said the driver stepped on the gas instead of the brake, accelerating over a guard beam and into the building. The Jaws of Life was needed to extract the woman's husband, who was sitting in passenger seat, Hardy said. She said the couple was very apologetic and walked away from the accident without injuries…
