Braintree-Based Keller Williams Agents Help Beautify Wollaston Beach

A team of approximately 30 Keller Williams® Realty agents and staff from the firm’s South Shore office in Braintree, along with a representative from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, gathered at Wollaston Beach for a beautification project on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

The volunteers, along with Sandi Meskimen from the Department of Conservation & Recreation, spent approximately five hours cleaning and beautifying the area around the beach’s parking lot and an adjacent section of Quincy Shore Road.

The effort included the collecting of refuse, weeding, and the planting flowers to refresh an existing flower bed for the season ahead. The flowers were donated by volunteer and Keller Williams agent, David Kelman.

This location was recommended for beautification by Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, who was on site May 10 to lend his support to the project, which had been planned in conjunction with his office and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the agency responsible for Wollaston Beach.

Following the beautification effort, the Keller Williams Quincy Office hosted an afternoon thank-you celebration for project volunteers at the City of Quincy Recreation Department, 1 Merrymount Parkway. Volunteers were treated to refreshments and complimentary massages by a licensed massage therapist and Keller Williams associate, Sharon Carroll.

The May 10 beautification project took place in observance of the Keller Williams global day of community service dubbed “Red Day," for Renew, Energize and Donate. On the second Thursday in May each year, tens of thousands of Keller Williams associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects designed to renew and energize the neighborhoods in which they serve. The projects are chosen by local Keller Williams offices based on a need seen in their communities. Red Day was established and is held each year in honor of Ms. Mo Anderson, Vice Chairman of the Board of Keller Williams Realty, Inc.
