Red Sox World Series Trophy Visiting Braintree

Come down to Braintree Town Hall, take a picture, celebrate the Sox.

Braintree Town Hall will host the 2013 World Series Trophy next week, providing an opportunity for residents to celebrate the Red Sox's latest triumph and pose for photographs.

The trophy will be on display Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

“The 2013 Red Sox season was one of great excitement," Mayor Joseph Sullivan said in a statement. “It was the third championship in 10 years but these Red Sox became very special and provided a much needed lift for the Greater Boston area.”

Sullivan said he hoped the mid-afternoon timing of the event will allow for children to view the trophy without having to stay out late on a school night.

“We may be just digging out after yet another snow storm but spring training is less than a month away," Sullivan said. “I encourage all residents to wear their Red Sox gear and show that Braintree is the center of Red Sox nation.”

Residents with questions are welcome to call the mayor’s office at 781-794-8100.
