Coach Crook Wins 300th Game, Braintree Boys Basketball Make Tournament

Cheer and Dance Teams compete in the 2013 Winter Bay State Conference Cheer and Dance Championship tonight at BHS, beginning at 7 p.m.

With its 59-53 tight win over Weymouth Tuesday night, the Braintree High School boys varsity basketball team earned a spot in the MIAA Division 1 South Sectional Tournament.

But that was not the only reason for Wamps to celebrate last night. The victory also marked longtime coach Bob Crook's 300th career win as the team's head coach.

Coach Crook is the winningest all-time coach in BHS boys basketball history, according to Athletic Director Michael Denise.

“I tell these guys we’re a family and this is bigger than basketball is,” Crook said after the game, ESPN Boston reported. “Tonight I think they saw that.”

We would like to wish our Cheer and Dance Teams the best of luck this evening as they compete in the 2013 Winter Bay State Conference Cheer and Dance Championship that will be held here at BHS, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission to the event is $7.00

Congratulations to Girls Gymnastics Team Members Brooke Ellis and Erin Shea. Both girls have qualified for the Individual State Championships run by the Girls Gymnastics Coaches Association.

Brooke will compete on Bars and Vault. Erin will compete on the Vault.
