Braintree Teams Kick Off MIAA Tournaments This Week

Braintree High School has multiple teams in the hockey and basketball tournaments.

Two Braintree High basketball teams and the school's girls' hockey team head into the MIAA tournament this week.

Boys basketball

Braintree High boys hoops will square off with Newton North on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Newton North.

Braintree is the number 12 seed in the Division 1 South tournament and finished the year at 12-8. The top seed in the Division 1 South tourney is North Quincy, which went 20-1 this year.

Girls basketball

Braintree High girls basketball will host the winner of King Philip and Marshfield at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Braintree is the number 1 seed and finished the year at 19-1.

Girls hockey

Braintree High School's girls' hockey team squares off against Chelmsford at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in Randolph.

Braintree finished the year at 12-6-4 and is the number 11 seed in the Division 1 tournament.
