Braintree Girls 9-0 After Victory Over Fontbonne Academy
The girls play next on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Needham.
A strong showing from guard Ashley Russell helped lead the Braintree High School girls varsity basketball team over Fontbonne Academy 54-31 Wednesday night.
The Lady Wamps, ranked No. 1 by ESPN, are now 9-0 on the season and play Needham next Friday evening. Fontbonne (No. 12), falls to 7-1. Russell led Braintree with 17 points and nine rebounds, according to an article on ESPN Boston.
Molly Reagan had 10 points and eight rebounds and Brianna Herlihy produced 7 points and 7 rebounds.
