Braintree Celebrates Red Sox World Series Victory

It was the first time the Sox clinched the World Series in Boston since 1918.

As the Boston Red Sox cruised to victory Wednesday night at Fenway Park, cementing their third World Series win in 10 years over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Braintree Police Department was standing by.

A Braintree police K9 united, assigned the to Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, was staged in Boston during the game. BPD reported on Twitter that they encountered no problems.

"Nightshift standing by ensuring an orderly flow out of Braintree station. No issues to report @MBTATransitPD pic.twitter.com/dE6SkcWGLX" the department tweeted at about 1 a.m. Thursday morning.

That was preceded by this note from Metro LEC:

"Congrats to the #WorldSeries Champions #BostonStrong @RedSox. Celebrate responsibly and get home safely"

Councilor-at-Large Sean Powers tweeted: "@ButchStearns called it right. Sox in 6. #WorldSeries #RedSox"

Nordstrom at the South Shore Plaza also got into the action: "The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions! Was anyone at the game last night? http://fb.me/2JuWdtDy1 "

Robert James, director of the Braintree Emergency Management Agency, shared a congratulatory photo on Twitter: "Congratulations Boston Red Sox pic.twitter.com/Z2Uo3tVC4L"

Congressman Stephen Lynch also got in on the social media congratulations, tweeting, "Congrats @RedSox! World Series Champs! #BostonStrong"
