Braintree Babe Ruth Team Heading to States

The Braintree 15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team travels to Saugus for its first game in the state championships this Friday, July 19.

Braintree defeated Hingham 11-1 to advance to the states, which are being held at World Series Park at 25 Dow St. in Saugus.

Friday's game is at 5:30 p.m. They play again Saturday at 1 p.m. and Tuesday, July at 5:30 p.m. to cap off the first round.

"This Braintree team has a unique set of players and parents that deserve applause for what they have endured this season so far," Coach Carl Zingarelli said. "Let's keep the effort going. Congratulations on a job well done to Coach Buck, Coach Dom, Coach Casey and Coach Phripp." 

If Braintree makes the semi-finals, they will play Saturday, July 27, with the championship game scheduled for July 28.
