My Favorite Teacher submissions from local students are now being accepted
at Barnes & Noble, 150 Granite Street Braintree, for the “My Favorite Teacher”
Contest.

The “My Favorite Teacher” Contest provides middle and high school students the
opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate their favorite teacher by writing an
essay, poem, or thank-you letter that explains how that teacher has influenced
their life and creatively write about why they appreciate and admire him or her.

Entries will be judged on the compelling nature of the teacher’s qualities, the
sincerity of the student’s appreciation, and the quality of expression and writing.

The winning teacher and student will be recognized at an April event at
Barnes & Noble, Braintree, where they will receive a special award
acknowledging their achievement.

The local winning teacher’s name will be entered into the regional competition
where five winners will be chosen. Each regional winner will receive a NOOK
Tablet™ and a $500 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. From the pool of five regional
winners, Barnes & Noble will name one teacher the Barnes & Noble National
Teacher of the Year.

The national winning teacher will receive $5,000 and the title of Teacher of the
Year and be recognized at a special community celebration at a local Barnes &
Noble store. The winning teacher’s school will also receive $5,000.
