Fontbonne Academy Hosts the 14th Annual Evening of Stars Gala

Founded in 1954 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, Fontbonne Academy is known for its academic excellence and rigor.

Fontbonne Academy will be holding its gala fundraiser, the 14th Annual Evening of Stars, on Saturday, March 23, at 6:00 p.m. at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Tickets are $115 per person and include dinner, auctions, and live music.

At this year’s Evening of Stars event, Fontbonne will highlight the school’s vibrant Athletics, Health and Wellness department and will present its prestigious Stellar Award to those who have made a commitment to athletics, health and wellness both within Fontbonne Academy and beyond her walls.

Recipients of the 2013 Stellar Award will be Ellen Sullivan, Fontbonne Athletic Director and Chairperson of the Athletics, Health and Wellness Department, who is celebrating 40 years at Fontbonne Academy in 2013, along with the school’s Athletics, Health and Wellness Department, which instills in students a lifelong commitment to health and wellness; and Catherine Hayes ’78, a Public Health Dentist and advocate for equality in oral health.

Proceeds from Evening of Stars not only help to provide scholarships and financial aid to some of the school’s brightest students, but will also help the school reach its goal of providing financial assistance to every qualified student who is seeking a Fontbonne education. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from this year’s Evening of Stars will also support the school’s Athletics, Health and Wellness Department.

Founded in 1954 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, Fontbonne Academy is known for its academic excellence and rigor. In addition to exceptional academics, Fontbonne’s current programs include thirteen highly competitive varsity and intramural sports and more than two dozen clubs and performing arts organizations.

Students are required to perform a minimum of 100 hours of community service and complete a year-long Social Justice Project prior to graduation. Last year, all 100 graduates of the school were accepted to four-year colleges and were awarded nearly $12 million in grants and scholarships, a clear indication of the superb education Fontbonne provides.

Tickets to Evening of Stars can be purchased through the Fontbonne Academy website at www.fontbonneacademy.org or by calling 617-615-3047.
