Opening the kindergarten center could also be a step toward moving full-day kindergarten classes out of the high school, a move that Chafe said would be in the best interests of those students. However, even with the center at Monatiquot next fall, FDK classes would likely remain at BHS in the short-term, Superintendent Dr. Maureen Murray said.

As for transition woes? Chafe said he attended Liberty as a child for kindergarten and then went to Morrison to finish elementary school. He said he does not believe it will be a large upheaval for kids.
