Braintree Welcomes New BHS Housemaster, South Asst. Principal, Guidance Director

All three new Braintree Public Schools administrators were congratulated by the School Committee Monday night.

The Braintree School Committee welcomed three longtime educators to their new administrative positions Monday night.

After a search process run by a committee of teachers, administrators and parents, Pagliarulo is now Assistant Principal at South Middle School.

"I'm very excited to start this new position," Pagliarulo told the committee.

Matt Reardon

After serving as an interim housemaster following the retirement of John Hurstak last summer, Reardon is now the third Braintree High School housemaster, joining Andrew Delery and Nancy Moynihan.

Reardon was a science teacher for 13 years and has been involved in many committees, including Student Council and the technology committee. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of California Davis, a master's from Boston University and performed advanced studies at Eastern Nazarene College.

"No two days have been the same," Reardon said of his time as interim. "I look forward to learning and growing as a housemaster."

Anthony Garofalo

Garofalo took over as interim guidance director after longtime director Anthony King suddenly passed away last August.

He is now the permanent director, after spending 11 years as a guidance counselor in Braintree. Garofalo has been a Student Council advisor and director of the secondary summer school.

He received a bachelor's degree from Stonehill College, a master's from Cambridge College, and advanced training at Bridgewater State University.

"My goal wasn't to be the director of guidance somewhere, it was to be the director of guidance in Braintree," Garofalo said.

There will be a tribute to Anthony King this Friday, April 5 starting at 4 p.m. in the BHS foyer. More details here: http://braintree.patch.com/articles/anthony-king-tribute-details-on-scholarship-fund-remembrance-night
