Braintree Schools Closed Wednesday
The storm is expected to drop upwards of a foot of snow on Braintree and deliver frigid temperatures.
Due to the snow storm hitting the area overnight, Braintree Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 22.
All athletic contests scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed, Braintree High School Athletic Director Michael Denise said in an email Tuesday evening, as the school department left messages with families about the cancellation.
A foot of snow or more is forecast to hit the South Shore Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. All Tuesday evening classes and activities have been cancelled as well.
Boys and girls basketball will play on Monday, Jan. 27. Boys will be home vs. Wellesley and the girls at Wellesley, Denise said.
Boys and girls ice hockey, as well as wrestling, will be rescheduled shortly.
