Braintree Fontbonne Student a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

Fontbonne Academy is a Catholic all-girls high school located in Milton, MA. It is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston.

Fontbonne Academy Seniors Maretta Morovitz, Caroline Cabral, and Jessica Baker have been named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Of the top 50,000 of more than 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test  (PSAT) in October 2011 and entered the National Merit Scholarship Program, 34,000 are recognized as Commended Students (the other 16,000, or approximately 1%, are named Semi-finalists).

Fontbonne Academy Senior Julia Butts has been named a Semi-finalist and will have the opportunity to continue in the competition. It is an honor for any school to have a Commended Student, as they are chosen from a very competitive field; it is extraordinary that Fontbonne Academy has three Commended Students and one Semi-finalist.
