The following local students were recently named to the Merrimack College Spring 2013 Semester Dean's List:

Dean's List students are so designated having earned a GPA of 3.25 or better based on a 4.0 grading system.

American International College awarded nearly 1,100 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its 2013 Commencement Ceremnony..

Some 300 undergraduate and 790 graduate degrees were awarded to students representing 11 foreign countries and 19 U.S. states. The ceremony took place May 19 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.

Matthew Sawtelle of Abington, a School Administration (CAGS) major, was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree.

Richard Christopher of Braintree, a Moderate Disabilities (MED) major, was awarded a Master of Education degree.

Michael Larkin of Braintree, a Moderate Disabilities (CAGS) major, was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree.

Caroline Moran of Braintree, a School Administration (CAGS) major, was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree.

Katherine Okoshi of Braintree, a Reading (MED) major, was awarded a Master of Education degree.

93-year-old Mary Raissi Stewart, a 1942 AIC graduate, and A. Craig Brown, treasurer of the AIC Board of Trustees, received honorary degrees at the ceremony. Brown, the keynote speaker, is a member of the Springfield law firm of Doherty, Wallace, Pillsbury and Murphy, P.C.,

Coastal Carolina University

Nicholas Dowling of Braintree, MA, has enrolled in Coastal Carolina University for the Fall 2013 semester. Nicholas joins nearly 2,200 other new students in the Class of 2017 (#CCU17). Before classes begin in August, all new first-year students will visit campus for a two-day orientation program where they will meet their academic advisors and learn what is expected of them as they transition from high school to college.

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Michaela Boscoe of Braintree has been named to its Dean's List for Spring 2013.
