St. Lawrence University

Daniel Kent, of Braintree, studied in Ethiopia this summer as a participant in St. Lawrence University's Summerterm course there. A member of the class of 2013 at St. Lawrence, Kent is a graduate of Thayer Academy, majoring in sociology.

In the course Ethiopia: Ecology, Knowledge and Women, students looked at how household arrangements, community organizations and regional trade networks are activated in concert to mitigate the conflicting structures of the global economy, particularly as they affect women.

Harrison Bourikas '14, of Braintree, MA, is spending the fall 2012 trimester abroad studying engineering in the Czech Republic.

Bourikas is a Mechanical Engineering major.

More than 60 percent of Union students from all disciplines study abroad in dozens of countries. Students can choose from a term abroad, a mini-term (over winter or summer break), a non-Union program or an independent study abroad.
