Manager with Braintree Property Firm Named Boston Chapter President of Institute

Peabody Properties, Inc., a full-service real-estate firm managing in excess of 10,000 housing units across New England, today announced that Regional Property Manager, Lisa Leary, has been named the next Boston Chapter President of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

The Institute of Real Estate Management is an international community of real estate managers dedicated to ethical business practices and maximizing the value of investment real estate.  IREM is comprised of 80 U.S. chapters, 13 international chapters and several other partnerships around the globe.  Leary, an active IREM member for more than seven years, has served the organization in various capacities, including her involvement with the membership committee and the executive board.  Leary has also served consecutive terms as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President Elect. 

In her new position as Boston Chapter President, Leary will be instrumental in the audit and oversight process and will play a leading role in member education, strategic planning, grants and scholarships, legislation and enforcing the IREM Code of Professional Ethics.  IREM Chapter Presidents serve yearlong terms.

Leary has worked in the field of property management for more than 17 years and has served as a Regional Property Manager at Peabody Properties, Inc. since 2010.  She is responsible for more than 1,300 units located throughout Massachusetts and her portfolio consists mainly of affordable and tax credit developments.  In addition to her association with IREM, Leary serves on the Best Practices and the Document Manager Committees at Peabody Properties.

According to Peabody Properties, Inc. Principal and Chief Operating Officer, Melissa Fish-Crane, Leary’s new IREM title is a testament to her professional commitment and dedication.  “Since joining Peabody Properties, Lisa has demonstrated tremendous growth by continuously expanding and diversifying her real estate portfolio.  She has achieved numerous industry designations and certifications.  She is a valuable addition to the IREM Boston Chapter’s leadership team,” said Fish-Crane.

Leary holds the following designations:  Certified Property Manager (CPM) from IREM, Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C3P) from Spectrum Enterprises, Inc. and the National Affordable Housing Professional-Executive (NAHP-e) from the New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA).  She lives with her family in Nashua, New Hampshire.
