A Quincy property that is part of a green homes tour this Saturday is so energy efficient that the Braintree firm behind it has pledged to pay the buyer for one year of utility bills or five years of heating bills.
MKE Development, on Grove Street in Braintree, is finishing work on the home at 30 Watkins St., near Wollaston Beach.
It will be part of a Northeast Sustainable Energy Association Green Buildings Open House tour taking place on Oct. 13. Earlier this year, an MKE home in Weymouth was featured on another tour.
Annual energy savings at 30 Watkins St. should average $300, according to www.energysage.com, which lists and describes homes involved in the program. Among the home's features are a high efficiency hot water heater, sustainable bamboo flooring, dual flush toilets and Energy Star appliances.
Michael and Kathy Egasti, owners of MKE Development, re-designed the interior of the home. Braintree Heating & A/C also contributed to the project.
