Watson Park Walkway to be Dedicated to Longtime Braintree Official

The walkway was developed along with the Captain Petersen Splash Pad.

Mayor Joseph Sullivan will dedicate a new walking trail at Watson Park to retiring Town Councilor Leland Dingee in honor of his tireless advocacy for the Town of Braintree.

The dedication of “Lee’s Way” is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6 at 12 p.m. at Watson Park. The public is invited.

“It has been a privilege and a sincere honor to have served the town these past thirty years. Today, I am overwhelmed by this special honor given me by Mayor Sullivan and the Town of Braintree," Dingee said in a statement.

“Lee’s way has always been to improve the Town of Braintree, particularly in East
Braintree," Sullivan said. “This gesture is one of thanks for all of Lee’s work.”

The newly-created walking trail is within the boundary of Watson Park and was
developed in conjunction with the Captain Petersen Splash Pad which opened in late July.
