Snow Emergency Declared in Braintree

The storm this weekend is expected to dump eight inches on Braintree.

Town officials put into effect a snow emergency as the snow storm bearing down on the region was expected to drop eight inches on Braintree.

Chief of Staff and Operations Peter Morin informed Braintree Patch of the snow emergency by email Saturday afternoon. The emergency is effective 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday, the Braintree police tweeted.

The declaration means on-street parking is not allowed during that time. No municipal parking either. Parking allowed at Sunset Lake and Watson Park.

"Police will tow vehicles interfering with snow removal. Please help us as DPW works to keep our streets safe," the BPD said on Facebook.
