Registry Increases Certain Fees as of July 1

Fees for registration and inspections are increasing.

Drivers in Massachusetts can expect to pay more for their registration for certain vehicles. 

On Tuesday, there will be an increase from $50 to $60 for registering non-commercial vehicles in the state. It is one of a handful of fees that will increase as of July 1. According to the Registry of Motor Vehicles website, the road test fee, the passenger registration Fee, and the Vehicle Inspection Fee will increase.

The road test fee will increase from $20 to $35, passenger registrations is going up from $50 to $60, one-year registrations increase from $25 to $30 and vehicle inspections will jump from $29 to $35.

NECN reported that transportation officials blame the increases on the need to invest in the state's roads.
