Free Braintree Flu Clinic Wednesday Afternoon

This year, the health department ordered a new vaccine that covers four strains of the flu.

The Town of Braintree is hosting a flu clinic Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

The clinic is free to all Braintree residents age 18 and older, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents are encouraged to bring their health insurance cards, but will not be charged a fee.

Money reimbursed by health insurance companies goes into the Braintree Health Department's revolving fund that helps pay for all vaccination activity by the town.

This year, the health department ordered a new vaccine that covers four strains of the flu. The quadrivalent vaccine was finalized by several makers this summer as a step up from the three-strain trivalent vaccine that will be most widely available from towns and pharmacies.
