EPA to Review Hazardous Waste at Braintree's Clean Harbors

Government regulators will review emissions at the facility.

The following is from the Environmental Protection Agency:

Responding to several requests, EPA has scheduled a formal public hearing and is extending the public comment period regarding its proposal to issue a Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments permit to Clean Harbors of Braintree, Mass.

EPA will hold a public hearing on the draft permit on April 16, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Braintree Town Hall (Cahill Auditorium). Public comments on the draft permit will also be accepted until April 16.

The draft permit includes organic air emission requirements related to hazardous waste for Clean Harbors’ facility located at 1 Hill Avenue in Braintree. Copies of the draft permit and fact sheet are available for review at the Thayer Public Library, at the EPA office in Boston and on the EPA Region 1 website.
