Dispute Over NH Woman's Will Includes Money for Braintree

Braintree officials told the Globe they will not get involved in the dispute.

The attorney for a New Hampshire woman who died after a bout with dementia claims that a police officer influenced the woman inappropriately to change her will.

The outcome of the suit could have financial implications for Braintree, which is set to receive either $250,000 – the original amount left to the town for a scholarship – or $25,000, the revised amount, according to a report in the Boston Globe

Braintree Chief of Staff and Operations Peter Morin told the Globe that the town is not getting involved beyond filing an appearance in court and monitoring the progress.

The woman, Geraldine Webber, may have at one time lived in Braintree, the Globe said, based on a report that her late son attended Braintree High School and the scholarship fund would be in memory of him.
