Commuter Rail Work Means Detour Around Grove Street

Replacement of the crossing will take place in Braintree Friday night (tonight) through Saturday night.

Replacement of the commuter rail grade crossing at Grove Street starting tonight and lasting through late Saturday will mean a detour for some drivers.

There will be no passage through Grove Street during most of that time, Braintree Town Engineer Bob Campbell said in an email. Traffic will be detoured around the crossing via Columbian Street, Park Avenue and Route 18 in Weymouth, all state highways, he added, and has been coordinated by the T with MassDOT-Highway.
