Commuter Rail Service to be Delayed Monday Evening

The MBCR anticipates 15-30 minutes delays for all lines.

A downed Amtrak wire in the Boston area this morning will lead to delays for all commuter lines out of South Station Monday evening.

All customers out of the station will experience 15-30 minute delays during the peak travel period, according to an advisory issued Monday afternoon by the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company.

"At approximately 5:10 a.m., Amtrak experienced a downed wire in the Forest Hills area," MBCR reported. "This issue affected eight (8) miles of signal systems. Amtrak is working to rectify the issue as soon as possible."
