Braintree Planning Board Chair Elected MA Bar Treasurer

Incorporated in 1911, the Massachusetts Bar Association is a non-profit organization that serves the legal profession and the public by promoting the administration of justice, legal education, professional excellence and respect for the law.

Braintree resident and Planning Board Chair Robert Harnais was recently elected treasurer of the Massachusetts Bar Association. 

Harnais is a past MBA secretary and vice president and runs the Harnais Law Office in Quincy, where his general practice concentrates on criminal, family, real estate, labor and consumer law. 

Harnais has served on the governing body of the association – the MBA House of Delegates – since 2006, according to an MBA press release. In addition, Harnais has served at the co-chair of the MBA Task Force on Diversity and on its Executive Management Board.

He is a past president of both the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys and the National Hispanic Bar Association and remains highly involved with both organizations.

Harnais is also a member of the Norfolk County Bar Association and received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1984 and graduated from New England Law | Boston in 1989. He lives in Braintree with his wife Leslie and their children.
