BELD Chair James Regan to Serve in Washington, DC

The Region that Regan will represent the Northeast from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, to New York, and all of the New England states.

Longtime Braintree resident and Braintree Electric Light Commissioner Jim Regan has accepted an appointment from the American Public Power Association (APPA).

Commissioner Regan will serve for the next three years as a member of the Policy Makers Council (PMC). The PMC is made up of locally-elected and appointed officials from public power communities across the country. Its mission is to assist APPA in moving legislation forward that is important to the public power electric utilities nationwide.

Mr. Regan currently serves as Chairman of the Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD). First elected as a Commissioner in 2006 Regan said he is deeply honored to serve on this 40 member council and is looking forward to the challenge, of working with others in the industry on legislation at the Federal level.

“My hope is to help give public power an even stronger voice on Capitol Hill," Regan said.
