Ringius Seeks Re-Election to Braintree School Committee

David Ringius is currently the vice-chair of the Braintree School Committee.

David Ringius, Jr., the vice-chair of the School Committee, has announced that he will seek re-election to the committee "to be a strong voice for our children."

Ringius, who was first elected to the committee in 2007, is a Braintree native and 1998 graduate of Braintree High School. He has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology from University Of Massachusetts at Boston and a Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law.  He is currently employed as an Assistant District Attorney by the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

“The organizational and analytical skills I honed while pursuing my education, and practicing as an attorney, have been an asset while serving on the
School Committee, and affords me a unique perspective in addressing the various issues facing our Schools," Ringius said in a statement.

Ringius is also involved in various community activities.  Currently, he serves as a Grade-Level Director and Coach for Braintree Youth Soccer, as well as coaching youth teams in Braintree Youth Basketball and Braintree National Softball.

“I will continue to focus on what I consider to be the #1 priority of any School System- safety and security," Ringius said. “For any student to truly be
afforded the most complete education possible, they need to be safe, they need to feel safe, as do their parents.  I will continue to push for improvements to security protocols within our Schools,  as well as a continued partnership between our schools, the Braintree Police, and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.”

“Our schools are at a  saturation point, and tough decisions have to be made now, not later, as to how we address these space issues," he added. "We need to devise both short and long terms plans to ensure every student, every
teacher, has adequate instructional space.

“My promise is also to continue to listen.  I will listen to the residents of Braintree, to the teachers and administrators within our schools, and, most importantly, to our students.  I will hear their thoughts and concerns as to our educational system, and do my best to address such concerns.

"My primary goal is to provide the students of Braintree with the most comprehensive educational experience that is possible; an experience they so richly deserve.

“I am proud of the accomplishments our schools have achieved during my time on this Committee, and look forward to being part of future successes."
