Woman Being Charged After Driving Over Sidewalk, Drugs in Car

A woman drove over a sidewalk, and then was found slumped behind the wheel.

A 21-year-old East Bridgewater woman will be summonsed to court after a South Shore Plaza security officer saw her driving her Jeep Grand Cherokee through the parking lot without headlights, and then driving up and over a sidewalk, said police.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, near the 99 Restaurant.  The security officer went to check on the woman, whose name is not being released because she has not yet been charged, and found her “slumped over the wheel," said police.

The security officer also spotted illegal drug use inside the woman’s vehicle.  Braintree Police, Fire, and Fallon EMS responded to the scene and determined the woman may have been suffering from a drug overdose, at which time Fire personnel administered a dose of NARCAN.  The woman responded to treatment and was then transported to the hospital.
