A 15-year-old and 16-year-old from Weymouth were arrested by Braintree police earlier this week after allegedly breaking into a vehicle on Sterling Street.
The owner of the Ford Mustang, a Braintree woman, told police that she found the youths inside her car just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Aug. 15, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.
Both teens – who were not named because of their age – walked away when the owner approached them, but responding Braintree and Weymouth officers found one of them on Front Street. That teen "made admissions" to the police and called the other youth on his cell phone, Jenkins said.
Officers heard the ringing phone and the other suspect came out of a property nearby. Both teens were charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, Jenkins said.
